As a 20 year old, I left college for a semester to go sailing. I’d never done much sailing before, and what sailing I had done was on lakes. For 8 months I lived aboard a 25′ sailboat and sailed alone from Alabama to Key West, Florida.
When I returned to college that Fall, I made myself a promise.
If I turned 28 and wasn’t married with kids and a house and all that, then I would go sailing again.
This time, around the world.
20-year old me would have bet on the whole wife and kids thing. But I’ll turn 28 this month, and again I’m living on a sailboat. I hope to begin my trip around the world next year.
And while I’ll likely make the trip alone, I’m hoping you’ll be a part of the adventure. In much the same way that you’d pay for a fancy lunch or a movie or a magazine or a book, I’m hoping that you’ll sponsor a mile of my trip.
In return, I’ll do my best to entertain, educate & inspire you through words, photos & videos over the next 2-3 years. I’ll share with you the ups, downs, hows & whys of the trip as I go.
By sponsoring 1 mile of the trip, you’ll get access to updates, photos & videos along the way. Also, your name (or your kids’ or company’s name) will be added to a “Sponsors and Supporters” page.
